This site serves as the nexus for my policy analysis on Russian Intellectual Property & Copyright Policies for American University’s SIS-645: International Communication and Cultural Policy. As exemplified above, Russia faces the juxtaposition of popular culture and national heritage and is working to address how to preserve the latter, while inspiring the former. The lasting effects of the Soviet era on the cultural development has moved the pressing issue of copyright infringement through piracy to the forefront of international relations.
